Krčnik is a natural attraction and is one of the most beautiful of its kind in Slovenia. There are very few such natural bridges in Slovenia, most of them worn-down with the weathering of the rock. Since 1985, basins with a natural bridge in Krčnik have been protected as natural monuments by a municipal decree.

Thanks to the favourable climate and the Brda earth, a soil rich in minerals, the Goriška Brda in the wine world are synonymous primarily with dry white wines and internationally award-winning red wines. Discover the rich wine-growing area and taste the wines of world-famous winemakers.

Today, there are about 120 hectares of olive groves in the Goriška Brda, and the number is still growing. In the Vinko cellar The Goriška Brda today operates a modern olive oil extraction plant where local olive growers produce top quality extra virgin olive oils, which achieve excellent results in international gradings.

The Alpe Adria route is designed to take you through the region's tourist attractions with their rich cultural, natural and culinary tradition. The basic theme along the trail is the richness of water in all its states: from glaciers, rivers, waterfalls, springs, and lakes to the sea. The purpose of the route is to connect three countries and three different cultures in a diverse experience.

Designed by the renowned painter and sculptor Janez Boljka, the Gonjače monument honors 315 World War II victims from the right bank of the Soča River. Beside the monument to the victims is a high lookout tower, from which in fine weather a magnificent view opens up on all four sides: Brda, the Julian and Carnic Alps, the Dolomites, Friuli, the Gulf of Trieste, the Karst, the Vipava Valley and the Trnovo Forest Plateau.

Dobrovo Castle is one of the most stunning castles in Goriška Brda. Experience the Knights' Hall with its preserved wall paintings, visit the museums of the cultural and historical collection of Count Silverij de Baguer, and see the largest European collection of graphic works of Brda's son, world-renowned artist Zoran Mušič. On the ground floor and stone vaulted basement, you can enjoy a castle lunch and wine tasting.

Founded on Roman foundations, Šmartno is now regarded as an architectural gem and a cultural landmark. The picturesque walled village with five preserved towers can be seen from all around and is considered one of the most beautiful villages in the  Goriška Brda. The houses are clustered around the church of St. Martin, after whom the village was named. The village comes to life especially on the famous wine holidays, such as The Feast of St. Martin.
